Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c.
granulated sugar
1/2
lemon, sliced
3
sticks cinnamon
Nutmeg
(optional)
3 whole
cloves
1 fifth
burgundy (or other red table
wine)
Directions:
Combine boiling water, sugar, lemon, cinnamon and cloves; stir until sugar dissolves. Add wine; simmer for 20 minutes. DO NOT BOIL. Strain out spices. Serve hot with sprinkling of nutmeg.
