Ingredients:
2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. white Karo syrup
1 tsp. anise or mint flavoring
1/2 c. water
Pinch of salt
Food coloring to please
Directions:
Mix sugar, syrup, water, and salt in saucepan. Heat to hard crack stage on candy thermometer. Remove from heat and quickly add food coloring and flavoring. Stir. Pour into buttered 9×13 inch pan. Cool and crack into pieces. Also good dusted with powdered sugar after cooled and cracked.
